The student faculty relationship is very congenial and it aids the proper development of the student, enabling the student to realize his/her true potential. Each student right from inception into the institute is entrusted to a faculty member. This Faculty member not only acts as an Academic Counselor, but also guides a student in choosing the right courses and in overcoming any problems that he/she might face during the years of study at Vignan. Counseling Activity on the campus is a sensitive attempt to reach out to the students and help them to acclimatize quickly to the institute’s culture.

           It creates a healthy rapport between faculty and student often enabling the former to mentor the latter by connecting education with guidance as an integral part of the teaching profession. It helps to ameliorate the immense stress that is silently suffered by the students coming from varied backgrounds.

Faculty members of every department identify students who need personal care and provide academic and personal counselling to them. Every faculty member assumes responsibility of 20 students. The faculty meets the student at least once a week.

Helped by the sound mechanisms, available for monitoring and tracking student performance, teachers identify slow learners and offer them special remedial classes outside the regular working hours.

Students with very low attendance are tracked and cautioned by the faculty counselor and the Head of the Department. In extreme cases, the parents are informed and advised to monitor their wards’ attendance. Often, the parent-teacher-student meetings help to solve the problem.

Behavioral aberrations or emotional problems are attended to through counseling sessions and also by seeking the assistance of close friends of the students.

Bright students are encouraged to participate in national level seminars, technical quizzes as well as literary-cum-cultural competitions.
