Student Support Practices
The institution has adopted the following practices for students’ support and progression.
- Personality development programs are compulsory to all students and are included in the regular timetable.
- Guest lectures by eminent people are arranged on diverse topics useful to students facing job interviews.
- Vignan Mahostav, a national level annual festival is conducted by the institution to enhance organizational abilities and leadership skills of the students.
- Industrial training of 4-6 weeks is arranged for students interested in getting industry exposure before choosing their career path.
- Industrial Trips are arranged for students of all branches, at least once in a year.
- The institute has introduced an exclusive soft skills programme to give training to students from their first year engineering onwards.
- From third year students are introduced to domain skills training for teaching specific packages like DBMS, JAVA, .net etc.,
- Special inputs to enable students to face campus recruitment drives like conduction of group discussion and mock personal interviews.
- Guest Lectures by eminent professionals are arranged on core subjects, ethics and entrepreneurship.
- GATE coaching, with study resources for preparation, are provided by each department.
- Special guidance for GRE & TOEFL with software support provided.
- Students are encouraged to participate in paper presentation contests and quizzes organized by the college as well as in inter – college competitions.
- Special counseling and support for the disadvantaged categories.
- Development of Entrepreneurship skills by organizing one – to one meets with young entrepreneurs.
- Special program on development of language skills for students is offered for those who come from vernacular medium. A well established, multimedia language laboratory enables students to overcome their linguistic deficiencies and develop proficiency in English usage. This further helps them to enhance their employability and seek easy entry into the corporate world.
- To foster the creativity, literary talents as well as develop journalistic skills among the budding engineers the institute publishes a monthly news magazine, ‘VOICE of Vignan’ .Contributions to the news magazine are entirely from the students and it is headed by a student editorial board with a faculty Chief Editor.
