Electronic Devices and Circuits Laboratory

The Electronic Circuits laboratory is designed to enable students to comprehend main characteristics of simple electronic devices such as diodes and transistors. The laboratory session is synchronized with the lecture in such a way that they complement each other. Lab manual made available to the students to carry out DC, AC & transient analysis of electronic circuits. Practical circuits are built using Various discrete components for DC and AC analysis.

Communications Laboratory I

The communication Lab-I helps the students to understand the basic principles of communication systems by practical module systems. This laboratory includes experiments both in analog communication and digital communication. The experiments are designed in such a way that the theoretical concepts introduced in lectures are implemented practically. The experiments deal with the analog communication basics such as Filtering, amplitude modulation, frequency modulation, frequency division multiplexing, phase locked loop, pulse analog modulation, pulse code modulation and digital modulation techniques like FSK, PSK, DPSK, QPSK etc.

Communications Lab-II

Communication Lab -II provides practical knowledge and observations on microwave active devices, VSWR, measurements of scattering parameters on various microwave passive devices and measure the radiation patterns. In this laboratory, students are exposed to different microwave active devices such as Reflex klystron and Gunn Oscillators, passive devices like isolator, circulator, slotted section, directional coupler, horn antenna, attenuator and terminations etc., including frequency meter and VSWR meter for microwave signal parameter measurements. Students will be able to determine the characteristics of microwave components. Measure the various parameters like impedance, frequency, attenuation, VSWR.

CAD Lab

CAD lab is to provide the simulation tools to design digital circuits and realizing using FPGAs. In this laboratory, students are exposed to different tools and FPGS?s like Xilinx Vivado, Xilinx ISE 12.4, Spartan 3E, Spartan 6, Z-Boards, Zenq, and Vertex 5 & 6, etc. Students will be able to Analyze static characteristics of MOS inverters and realize digital circuits on FPGAs.

Signal Processing Laboratory

The Signal Processing laboratory is designed to supplement the lectures on the subject. The laboratory experiments are carried out on a computer. The programming language used is MATLAB, widely used for high performance numerical computation and visualization. MATLAB with campus License is available for all the students and teachers for academic and research purpose which can be used outside the campus also. There is also a provision for the student to perform real time implementation of DSP algorithms using Texas Instruments processors like TMS320C6713. This laboratory is to be also useful to carry out projects related to DSP implementations.

IC Applications Laboratory

The IC applications laboratory is designed to enable students to understand the functioning of Operational Amplifiers and frequency domain analysis. some important ICs include IC741, IC 555, etc. Circuits employing the op amps as the active element are constructed to perform as amplifiers, integrators, filters, relaxation and sinusoidal oscillators. Digital ICs are also available for designing various combinational and sequential circuits.

Microprocessors and Microcontrollers Laboratory

The microprocessor and Interfacing laboratory is equipped with sophisticated state-of-art tools for teaching and experimentation in the area of microprocessors. This laboratory will provide the students a perfect introduction to the world of Microprocessors and to provide hands-on experience essential to the real understanding of microprocessors architecture and it's interfacing to the peripheral devices. The experiments are designed to provide the students with the design principles of microprocessor systems and real time programming. Also students use the facilities in this laboratory for the realization of their miniprojects and course project work. The course accomplishes this by using microprocessor and microcontroller kits, simulators and software development systems.

Central Insturmentation centre

Central Instrumentation Centre was established in 2016 and operated by the department of ECE, to cater to product development, equipment maintenance, and support experimental research for various departments/centres of the VFSTR (Deemed to be university) by providing sophisticated instruments. It is equipped with various instruments necessary for testing and measuring and tools for service, maintenance, and repair works of all electronic equipment/appliances & teaching aid. Support for students and faculty across the university in the design and fabrication of instrumentation modules is provided by CIC. Major equipment includes Data Acquisition System DAQ6510/7700(Tektronics), RF Spectrum AnalyzerN9320B, Multi Signal Oscilloscope MSO3024T, Moku Lock in Amplifier, Humidity chamber, My RIO-1900(NI).

Signal & Image Processing Research Center

This center is equipped with sophisticated industry standard hardware and software. It has tools such as LAB VIEW, Cadence and Xilinxise etc, supports hardware implementation and verification of signal and image processing algorithms and architectures. It includes hardware RT Embedded Vision System Spartan 3E and , Spartan 6, Vertex4,5and 6 version FPGA boards NI- myRIO and my-Daq NI-Elvis Board.

The center caters as the project laboratory for carrying out minor projects, mini projects, and the semester-long main project in the areas of drones and image processing by the undergraduate students and present in different expos. The students will get to know the research activities happening in that lab because Research scholars and faculty are also working there for their research.

Wireless and Sensor Networks Research Center

Wireless sensor network refers to a group of spatially dispersed and dedicated sensors for monitoring and recording the physical conditions of the environment and organizing the collected data at a central location. It is the subset of IoT. When the fourth industrial revolution gets started, the leading areas are IoT and AI. Major equipment of this research center includes USRP N210 Kit, SBX USRP Daughter Board,30 C-Motes.

The center caters as the project laboratory for carrying out minor projects, mini projects, and the semester-long main project in the areas of IoT by the undergraduate students and present in different expos. The students will get to know the research activities happening in that lab because Research scholars and faculty are also working there for their research.

VLSI Design Research Center

The key objective of VLSI Design Centre is to introduce the fundamental principles of VLSI circuit design, to examine the basic building blocks of large-scale digital/analog integrated circuits, and to provide hands-on design experience with professional design (Cadence/Xilinx) platforms among the students. Hence in view of Industrial requirements and large demand for VLSI engineers around the world, the VLSI research center established with Cadence University Bundle, Cadence Software, Xilinx Vivado System Edition for simulation of analog and digital circuits.
